Hear the Planes – 2022

Hear the Planes will perform on July the 16th 2022 at 2pm and 7:30pm at Lenham Community Centre.

It is the second play by our own playwright David Penny the author of the audience acclaimed “The Boys Aren’t Home”.

The year is 1942 and Ted a pilot with bomber command accompanied by his crew and squadron leader, decides to get away from it all with a break in a little village in Kent called Lenham, there he meets Jane a waitress at the local hotel and pub The Dog and Bear. During his time in Lenham he meets many of the locals including a World War I veteran Thomas and his friend Alice. Friendship quickly turns to love for Ted and Jane but will their love stand the test of the war.

All profits from this years show are being given to 2 charities, the 2 charities are the RAF Benevolent Fund which helps ex RAF personnel and their families in times of need and the Lenham Community Centre that provides so much support to local groups.

This production will be an immersive experience where you will be taken back to the 1940s, if you wish to, we would love to see you in 1940s costume to become part of the experience.
